Vision
I believe the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's best days are ahead! This community can be a future model of how best practices can be encorporated into how a community is developed and sustained both for today and tomorrow. To do this, we must strive for excellence in all that we do. Strategic planning of short and long term goals, measurable achievable targets, effective communication at all levels and building beneficial partnerships between all levels of government, including first nations, industry, business and environmental groups is essential to our success.
We must also provide opportunities to empower our citizens and all who work here to not only participate fully but also unleash their creativity. In doing so, we can improve the quality of life both in the urban and rural areas. Quality of life must embrace the human spirit in all areas: the arts and culture, the diversity of traditions, education, the faith community, health care, safety and sports to name a few.
We are as well a giving community and must not lose track of those less fortunate than ourselves who need support to get back on their feet and once more lead rewarding lives.
If we work together and approach our challenges with a positive attitude that is built on co-operation, hard work and perseverence we can achieve our potential. This is what I am committed to working towards and with your support, together we can make a difference!
